Why does Stan button the bottom button on his suit?

Tacky...

He only has two buttons on his jackets, why would he only button the top one? He's also rather uptight so he would naturally be the kind of person that would button everything.
Realistically though, it's probably easier to animate basically the rectangle that is his jacket, rather than leaving it open.

reply

One never buttons the bottom button on a suit jacket, no matter how many buttons.

I didn't know that. I don't often find myself in situations where I have to wear a suit jacket.
Like I said though, it can simply be chalked up to an easier-to-animate choice, besides this is a show that features a main character alien, other aliens, a talking fish, a talking koala, time travel, time traveling cyborgs, shrink rays, the handicapped mafia, an evil hot tub, cloning, heaven, a holodeck, a pill that changes your gender, Sinbad's ghost, artificial memory goo, a revenge focused Santa, a bus driving Krampus & a jewel encrusted turd mini series. The fact that a man buttons both buttons on his two button jacket seems to be the least unrealistic thing about it.

That's a double-breasted jacket. Stan wears a single-breasted suit.

reply

Which you didn't specify in any previous post. Check Navy officer dress whites since you now want to distinguish between the two.

reply

Okay, I'll specify: I'm not referring to double-breasted suits or military uniforms, I'm referring to civilian single-breasted suits, i.e. Stan's primary suit.

reply

In short bottom buttons are never buttoned, apart from at least the two examples I've given which you didn't mention initially.

reply

Correct, two examples which were irrelevant to my point.
