Yes ! I just checked this board to see if anyone else had noticed this :)
I've only watched as far as Episode 2, but the similarities are striking. There's a scene at the end where Dagless cradles a young temp who's been struck in the chest by flying screwdrivers (!) -- the background synth music, the dialog and the whole moody ambience immediately made me think of the original Vice TV series. "Don't you dare die on me !"
I love that somebody else made the same connection :)
