I noticed that too, he looks good when he is in the water with his cap, goggles, and wet hair. Then when he is out it is a different story.

ummm i love phelps so don't take this the wrong way but doesn't he talk ummm differently... like, i think he has a lisp but its not a normal lisp and then when you actually watch his mouth move while he's speaking you end up wondering if it really is possible to talk like that... but maybe i'm just crazy

sharei don't think its a real lisp... its just something about the way he talks just doesn't seem right... and no i don't think he smiles too much, i mean, i think he's super adorable, its just... if watch him getting interviewed he just talks weird... like, when he says a word with an "s" in it he sticks his bottom jaw out... i don't know how he can speek like that but i'm in awe of his ability to move his mouth like that and still form reconizable sylables... and i'm in awe of how cute he is...

i noticed his speech oddness also. like you i cant really describe whats not normal but i just have a sense of something being off when he speaks :/
