Will the Disney Channel show Tiger Cruise on 9/11?

Will they? As we are soon to observe the 7th anniversary of the attacks on the WTC, Pentagon, and that fateful flight 93, will Disney broadcast "Tiger Cruise"?

Nah! At 8:00pm EDT Disney is showing 'Smart House' about a boy who tries to stop his father from dating by programming their computerized house to be a surrogate mother.

It's as if Disney is horribly ashamed that they made this wonderful movie. Maybe it's not the best movie ever and has some obvious technical green screen shots, (it IS a TV movie) but darn it Disney, you made the movie, many would love it on DVD with its wide-screen format & Hayden Panettiere's - 'My Hero Is You' music video of the song she sang for the movie.

Nope, no DVD and last broadcasted in what, 2006?? Truly America's loss.

God, I don't understand Disney's embarrassment about this movie! Fortunately my husband recorded and edited out the Disney promos and burned a DVD for us & the kids to watch. To make sure my children remember that 'big' event (thinking of JFK for us), we as a family watch Tiger Cruise & United 93 every year.

I too would like a proper DVD release from Disney. The prospects don't look too good as Disney continues reap its profits from Hanna Montana.

Disney, just release a DVD and walk away!

Seriously, they have enough money to.

They haven't played it in two years. It's without a doubt one of the Channel's best film, so they must be idiots.

I live in Texas, the home state of George W. Bush. I apologize.

reply

Dear Natalie Maines,

W sends his best wishes and is looking forward to seeing you in January!

BTW, I'm originally from southside Chicago, home turf of Barry Obambi. I apologize America!

Well they just showed it, albeit at 2am. As Marine I'm happy Disney is doing its part.

I haven't seen this movie in SO long. The last time it was aired, I was too young to truly understand what this movie is talking about. But when I watched it last night, I cried. I'm crying right now just typing this because I actually understand what the movie is talking about, the heros and their sacrifices.

It's a shame they won't show this during the "regular" airing time for DCOMs.

Seriously, stop showing re-runs of that bubble gum pop stuff and start airing real movies.

WTG Disney, showing a great family film at 3:00am EDT. If I'd know I would have watched!

Well, this is kind of weird, but I'm watching this movie right now. It's on Estonian channel TV3, but I doubt you have heard of it. And I agree, the movie is pretty good.

I typed it in on my cable search engine type program and it didn't show up at all, which is very dissapointing because I know in the past Disney had shown it on 9/11, but I guess because of now that Hannah Montana and Selena Gomez are more popular then ever Disney doesn't want to show anything depressing.

Which is dissapointing because I liked Tiger Cruise, it showed the reaction from a different point of view.

^^ I know right?! I tried looking for it on my Cox guide last night, but I got zip. I was truly disappointed as well. Darn you Dingo Channel. *facepalm* It was nice to see what it would've been like from the POV of kids.

Disney missed a HUGE opportunity to air this. They haven't aired it in primetime for a few years and haven't aired it near 9/11 since its premiere.

They should just release a DVD. I'd buy it. The only copy I have is taped from its premiere on Disney Channel and I don't have a VCR I can trust not to eat a video tape. :(

reply

Disney, PLEASE do the right thing and show this fine movie on 9-11-11.

Even better, make a few bucks and release on DVD/Blu-ray. I'll be your first customer.

It's the 10th anniversary...do the right thing...

Disney disappoints again. It is not scheduled anytime soon. As I believe this will be the 1st 9/11 Tuesday since 2001, at least a DVD/BD release would be appropriate.

Come on Disney - you have a gem just waiting to shine...

they are airing Let it Shine on 9/11/12...when they COULD air Tiger Cruise instead. :(

I'd rather watch Tiger Cruise than a dumb movie with focus on MUSIC...which they overdo.
