the name of the aircraft carrier on the show was the constalation (sp). (conny) for short. The actual ship the constalation(sp) is in the navy deactivation ship yard where they deside to either scrap it or do something diffren;t like make it fully fonctional again to be used or make it like a bombing target or something. its been there for about a year now. They talked about the ship on the history channle show mail call. I just thought it was a cool little fact.

Okay, well here is another little cool fact about it:

"The movie was filmed aboard the USS John C. Stennis in San Diego and the USS Nimitz, at sea."

The Connie is currently in mothballs for a few years. That means that in the event of a huge problem (like China invading Taiwan) she will be able to be brought into active duty.

Her younger sister the USS AMERICA (CV-66) was decommissioned in 1996 by that moron Clinton. She had 20 years left too. She was sunk in June during a sink-ex.

You know, I found this movie a bad preparation for what it is really like to go on a Tiger Cruise. That film was rampant with errors. Such as the main character sleeping in the berthlings. Her father is an XO(2nd in command). She'd sleep in his stateroom and eat with his mess. By the way, there is no way they would be allowed in the kitchen and would not be allowed to run around the ship on her own. I'm 27 and I wasn't allowed to do that. I always had to be escorted for my protection I guess. I'd like to hear the real story of what her trip was like. Not this hyped up piece of crap. A real tiger cruise is actually not that exciting. I spent most of the time watching DVD's. The steel beach picnic (picnic on the flight deck) was cancelled. We had an air show. The food was so awful, I stopped eating for two days. I was on the Nimitz. No offense to the Nimitz sailors out there. I have complete respect for what you guys do.

emptyvoices you have to keep in mind that it is a disney channel not everything is going to be like it is in the real world plus they do have to make is fun to watch...

I had a friend that served as Chief on the America. I believe that America was the only modern flatop that was NOT nuclear powered. Not sure but I think they sank the America?????

Connie is currently under tow. She is heading for Brownsville Texas where she will be broken up for scrap.

I joined the Navy to see the world, only to discover the world is 2/3 water!
