Deleted opening kill scene

There was an opening kill scene that was apparently scrapped. It's available on the DVD/BLU RAY or you can watch it on youtube. I don't want to give it away but I thought it was pretty awesome. I wished they would have used it. It turns out the girl that is killed still lingers in the film as she is the girl that is first scene being turned into a wax sculpture in the house. Her wax figure is later seen in front of the theatre with a pink dress and flowers. Has anyone else seen this scene?

I do agree with you, that scene was pretty good. But I felt like it gave too much away, by that I mean the scars Bo had on his hands. Also it made me feel like it was one of the cheaper/ more cheesier horrors that usually get ratings below 5. Not criticising it whatsoever, because I see it working well but not at the beginning of the film.
And you cannot forget about the fact that there cannot be two openings to the film. So it would have been either that deleted scene OR the scene with Trudy and Dr. Sinclair while the brothers were young. With all that being said, despite that scene was very decent, I am glad they used the 1974 scene as the opining to the film creating more of a mystery and enigma.

They should have used both!

I think it´s better they removed it. This scene is very commonplace. The scene they put instead, with the children twins, is far better.

That scene feels more like a sequel set up.

That would actually be pretty great. Just imagine that instead of Bo, it was the third brother.
