shareI didn't see it as a "hand over head gesture" but a sweeping the hair aside and baring the throat". Real adult wolves do that; they tilt their head up and to the side, baring their throat, as a submission gesture to the Alpha of their pack. Puppies, both dog and wolf, roll over and bare their vulnerable bellies.
