soundtrack listing

someone made a full list of all songs used in the shorts in the stella comedy livejournal community but unfortunately that was long ago and unable to be found. does someone have the list or is someone nerdy enough to go through all the shorts and find out? specifically, i just want the really sad music that seems to frequent the episodes. you know what im talking about.. haha

reply

The two sad songs they use over and over again are "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor and "For America" by Paul Simon.

Remember--they have zero permission for these songs. It's fine to chat about this on the boards, but let's keep it off the soundtrack listing section of IMDB. I don't want Paul Simon to be idly IMDBing himself one day and see himself listed under something called "Stella Shorts" and sue their asses off.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

At the end of Whiffleball they pay homage for Paul Simon to let them use his song, so I always assumed they asked permission first?

the led zeppelin song they use for the dinner clip is 'fool in the rain'.

reply

in the one where they go meet Santa, a small clip of Rush's "Red Barchetta" is played when they are playing poker (?).

Age of Aquarius is The Fifth Dimension

reply

at the beginning of whodunnit, there is a ominous sounding music playing for a few seconds, its from a yanni cd, tribute i think.

reply

the music playing at the poker table (in the poker short) is craig wedren's cover of the rolling stones' "miss you," and it is awesome. not to mention, probably used with permission, as craig writes the music for everything else they do.

Are any of these songs the theme song used at the beginning of each episode? If not, does anyone know what that song is?
