First lesson - To go to bed when they are told (and say please) - Hair goes from gray to brown
Second lesson - To get up when they are told - Higher Wart disappears
Third lesson - To get dressed when they are told - Lower Wart disappears
Fourth lesson - To listen (and say thank you) - Uni brow disappears, hair turns blonder & wavy, droopy earlobes disappear, complexion improves.
Fifth lesson - To do as they are told - Nose no longer bulbous & the snaggle tooth disappears

The five lessons are:

1. Go to bed when they are told (and to say please).
2. To get up when they are told.
3. To get dressed when they are told (and to say thank you).
4. To listen. (This lesson was for Mr. Brown, their father. Though anything the children take from the lesson will be for them too. As Nanny McPhee told Mr. Brown "I have five lessons to teach. What lessons they learn is up to them." This was when Cedric told her he thought they'd learned rather more than 'To get dressed when they are told' - Lesson 3 - that day.)
5. To do as they are told.
