No the plots arn't similar at all.
I read this book a while ago now, but saw Pans Labyrinth recently. A great film that left you wondering where the reality stopped, and fantasy began. An exceptionally clever film that didn't play down to you, and maintained a good strong storyline.
Little white horse is simple and pure fantasy, about a little girl who finds out that her destiny is more than she ever dreamed. Pure fantasy in the real sense too, in that it is a classic book of purity, innocence and an awakening to life outside her sheltered upbringing. Classic, also, in the sense, that it has all the traditional 'life is good and nice' feeling about it..whereas Pans Labyrinth left the viewer in no doubt that real life can be anything BUT..
