Different From Book

I bought the blu-ray of "The Secret Of Moonacre" last nov,i don't think it was a great movie but i like the costume, set design & the soundtrack, i always have a thing for fantasy movies along the line of "Stardust" & "The Princess Bride". As is my habit, i usually read the novels that the movies i saw are based on,but can't find the book anywhere. Last week i finally found a copy of "The Little White Horse", the storyline is very different from the movie,Robin for example, is Loveday's son instead of being De Noir's son in the movie, there is also no 5,000th moon subplot in the book. Anyway, while not exactly "Lord Of The Rings", it's still an entertaining, light-hearted fantasy flick.

Well, you're a bigger person than me, but maybe that's because I read the book (several times, since childhood) before seeing the movie. I now have 2 daughters and thought the movie would be good for them to see.

However, I cannot move past the mangling of the original storyline, so I won't be showing the movie to them anytime soon. They can watch it when they get older. ;) In the meantime, we're going to stick to reading the book!

Anything happens to my daughter, I got a .45 and a shovel. I doubt anybody would miss you.

I agree with you. I have not seen the movie (although I had looked forward to its release), because of the destruction of a wonderful book.

Is character Maria in the film British or French?
