How about the worst stuff?

It was hard for me to decide which was worse, Steven Tyler (because when I think "blues", I think "Aerosmith") or Buster Poindexter (because when i think "blues", I think "New York Dolls"). What a complete waste of film those two guys were. And David, could you at least learn the words? Way to pay tribute to Hubert and Chester by not even knowing the freaking words, dude.

He was performing as David Johanson, not Buster Poindexter. Whether he got the lyrics correct or not, it was still a fine performance.

I believe Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were in this because Aerosmith had recently released an all-blues album. Given that Aerosmith began as a band around 40 years ago, and were largely influenced by blues performers and other rock bands who had a blues influence (like the Stones), it's not a strech at all to see them on the stage with the rest of the acts here.

Worst moment? Bill Cosby.

wouldn't call it the worst moment, more like uncomfortable: when Odetta came out yelling that Ruth didn't need to be fightin' the band. Ruth seemed just fine with how rehearsal was going. But that's just part of the charm of having so many sharp and distinct personalities together.

Wish the DVD had included a second disc so every performance was presented. Robert Lockwood, Billy Boy Arnold, Lazy Lester, and others were listed in credits but not shown except in the green room. and then others played (Mos Def) but aren't in the performer credits (including here on IMDB).

Macy Gray was just as bad as Poindexter. Maybe worse. She was just not up to the material. They should have given Shemekia Copeland two songs and sent Macy home.

Promise her anything, but give her a Pez!

Steven Tyler was insanely amazing. The OP must have pig poop in his ears. There's maybe a dozen white singers alive who could have gotten on that stage and gone toe-to-toe with those greats, and Tyler is one of them. (And Joanie Osborne, Susan Tedeschi, Rod Stewart, Jimmy Thackary, James Hunter, Popa Chubby, and ... and.... and .... well, that's all I can think of right now. )

John Fogerty sang great, as always, but you can't call that the blues.

Johansen? Nah. that was pretty bad. Decent showmanship, at least, but the voice wasn't there.

The second worst for me was Bonnie Raitt. Feh. Nuthin' happening there.
She's a fantastic ballad singer, and a passable slide player (massively overhyped as far as the guitar goes) but there should be a law banning her from ever attempting to song the blues, ever again.

Oh, and to the idiot who thinks Macy Gray was bad: You should immediately gouge-out yours ears with hot needles, because you don't deserve to hear anything, ever again. Wow.....

Did I hurt your feelings, Daisy? Is your self-esteem dependent upon everybody supporting your tender opinion that Marble-Mouth Macy is wonderfulness incarnate? Oops, sorry, (ya crybaby shmegegge).
