What a load of crap! (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!)

This film was one of the most ridiculous films I have ever seen! It started with a Titanic esq beginning with an old lady reminiscing about her old love, and then she started her excruciatingly predictable tale of her lost love and all that rubbish!

The acting was absolutely TERRIBLE, with vivek oberoi doing your average uninspired angry young man thang which has come to define bollywood's 'heroes'. The cartoon performances of the English characters and evil prince were embarrassing. And for some reason the character of Luxmi was played by a woman who couldn't act and seemed to have arrived straight from the circus! Every scene she was in was just stupid yoga poses, I mean I can imagine her audition; 'Gee wizz Mr Ghai, I can't actually act, but look how bendy I am!'. And believe me, I've tried that at job interviews but someone always calls security.

The film just didn't make any freakin sense; Kisna and Luxmi had not had one conversation until the scene where she caught him with Katherine and went on a rant at him, and yet he was supposed to marry her? Why? And what the hell was a church doing in the middle of a jungle? And why did katherine suddenly break into some sort of ridiculous music video while they were in said church??? The editing was an absolute joke, many scenes were thrown in for no reason, a bit of nudity, a bit of circus shenanigans from Luxmi, and on the whole very jerky rhythmn throughout.

I could go on for hours about how bad this movie was...but don't worry. For anyone crazy enough to watch this crap, I will tell you what was good about the movie: The scenery and cinematography was absolutely breathtaking! Really, just superb. Some acting was good; Om Puri, sushmita sen, and vivek mushran's character and his wife gave a nice comic turn midway. What else....yeah that's about it. On the whole the film was style over substance and there was a sick undercurrent of 'hey western world, love me LOVE ME, forget Lagaan, love ME' throughout.

Anyhoo, that's my two cents.

The film can't beat Dev, Pinjar, or Lagaan, but the music was real good.

Hey Sub...nice review...I really enjoyed your comments..very funny!! I lol on the line where it says you tried bendy for job, but always ended up with security...you hv great humor.

I fully agree with your comments...in good things you can also add the music..some of the songs were good...especially the "mujra" song by Sushmita Sen...nice art direction and stage setting.
