I loved it!

What a wonderful film. It has been a while since a Hindi film has captivated me as Kisna has. The cinematograhy is lovely, excellent plot, talented cast. I can't understand why anyone would dislike it. Ghai's clash of culture was perfectly developed, and I've never seen such a seamless mix British and Indian characters in Bollywood cinema. Antonia Bernath, is really spectacular as the leading lady. If, however, the plotline doesn't compel you, watching Isha Sharvani's character Lakshmi dance is extraordinary. She does things that one would have thought were not humanly possible! Vivek Oberoi is handsome and courageous, no one could have played his part better. Really something special, not the usual Bollywood drama.

I admit it was a different type of film, when i watched it i was very disappointed but i guess nothings perfect. I didn't like the film because of unnecessery scenes although the concept was good. The only thing i really liked was Isha sharvani, brilliant dancer!! Sushmita gave a memorable presence. Vivek was crap in this film, i liked him in saathiya and company, this role didn't go with him. This is subhash ghai's worst film after Yaadein,, his best films of Taal, pardes and other classics cannot be compared. Where has your inspirational direction gone subhash??

Anyone who complains about this movie needs their head read! Honestly!
But then, if we look at the IMDb statistics, it can be seen that men generally trashed the film and women generally loved it. And most people that come to IMDb are men, so, I guess we have to expect the guys to whine.

Well, I'm a woman, and a professional artist and I loved it!!!

The sense of colour can only be rivalled to Paheli!
Wonderful gorgeous yummy stuff!
The colour work in the scenes has been crafted so perfectly.
The costumes were breathtakingly beautiful, especially in the palace scenes (the blue ones) WOW. I loved the dance sequence in that scene too, exquisite dancing and it's so great to hear classical Indian music coming to the fore in a movie like this. The colour work in that scene is simply brilliant, the blue tones are so carefully balanced, and I loved the bit where the singer brings her red decorated hands to the front, with all those blues around ... WOWWOWWOW!
I also loved the colour work in the river scenes, and dance that begins with the girl in the green skirt lying on the ground.
And hey, what about the moment where the dancer holds in the sun in her hands ... magic!
This is such a visually pleasing movie. I bought the dvd last week and I've watched the film about 8 times already!

Loved it!

yeah it was a brilliant film, but due to bollywood length a little extended beyond necessity.
Vivek was great, its a shame people say his acting was bad, he was acting the same way as he did in saathiya , giving honest heartfelt performance. Antonia Bernath was amazing. Just didn't like the rope dancing...overly shown and annoying as that actress.

overall a great film, with great chemistry between Oberoi and Bernath.

I wonder what kind of films are liked by people who did not like this one? As I loved saathiya, pardes and Taal, and think this is as great as those films. Obviously different because Kisna loves the foreign girl over the indian one and has to bow to duty. Wonder if people disliked the fact that he loved katherine? :/ lol hmmm

I really liked the movie. Vivek's work was fine. And Isha Sharvani and Hrishitaa Bhatt were great at dancing (even Hrishitaa was amazing playing her tiny role). And it's always a pleasure to see Sushmita Sen. But the movie was too long and had too many adventures. For a moment, Kisna seemed to be a superhero.
The only thing I didn't like was the last song (Antonia Bernath's song). It's no because of her. The whole song and dancers looked very western.
