the end

what do u think about the end?i thought it would end where martha drownes nadia with the pillow but the end with martha calling the old man who was in love with nadia and then the little girl on the beach kinda confused me.

Mr. Softee was an easy mark. Martha used him to get out of her situation, something she learned how to do from Nadia.

Nadia also taught Martha (and me) that in Greece you can commit almost no end of murders, usually without consequence. Must be fun.

The little girl at the end is open to interpretation, but as the car was a 2-seater, they weren't directly part of Martha & Mr. Softee's lives as they were driving toward the beach. Perhaps they were:

* seen in passing from the car
* children the couple went on to have
* a flashback to an unexplained previous time in Martha's life
* symbolic

Take your pick.

Just saw this flick at the Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. Enjoyed it.

the girl was nadia as a child, from the picture that martha looked at countless times..... attach whatever meaning you wish

Martha says "...στην θάλασσα..." (to the sea) in the end. I think that meant she was finally liberated (from her bad self that was Nadia, essentially).
The film can also be viewed as an allegory of one girl with a demon and angel side.
