Ending very touching!

I thought the ending was one of the most touching things Ive seen in a movie, in a while. The ending actually brought me to the point of tears. After watching all the good things Fat Albert did and seeing his grave was a great legacy to his life. It was funny also after that scene where Fat Albert discuss how people are crying and whatnot...they expected it and I guess they got a tear from me. I actually liked the movie and was clean and fun.

I was about to post about the ending, but then I saw this thread! That was rather sad, and touching!

I don't see why people voted this movie so low, its rather good, not real funny though.

i cired

does anyone know where i can get he score that is played over that scene

reply

Me too. To me, that message about friendship and aging, and staying friends until the very end, was beautiful and the most important message in the entire film.

Does anyone know if the whole plot involving Albert Robertson was real, or invtend solely for the movie? I thought it was very touching at the end to see the characters, and the people they were supposed to be based on.

if you listen real hard to when they're playing at the cementery, listen hard to the sound of children and you can hear the cartoon mushmouth and dumb donald's voice.

I just saw this movie tonight and was wondering the same thing as you. So I did a little checking online and it looks like the plot really was based on Albert Robertson.

Here a link that will give you more info on this:

"yeah, you and the rest of the world

I wish I could disagree.

This was an incredibly hokey movie with a very, very good ending. But that still doesn't make up for the other 89 wasted minutes.

reply

yes i was suprised i had no idea he made it based on "REAL" people
but then thats cosby...a "REAL" guy....very nice ending...

reply

I agree it was very touching and i was in tears,i was thinking the same when they xpected crying i shed plenty of tears

I was wondering was Fat albert a real person and if he was is there any real life pictures of him in existence

When I first saw Fat Albert, it was the way I usually watch DVDs. With my computer at my side and the IMDB.com site available. I researched it and found pictures and some touching tributes to the real Albert.
I have loved Cosby's stuff since the 60's and I think I always knew the kids in his stories were at least based on real people.
I think that some of the old friends at the end of the movie might have even been the actual people too. Not sure on that, tho.
All in all, a very sweet movie.
Here is a blog reference to back my theory about the people at the end being the actual people. http://www.joeygibson.com/blog/cinema/FatAlbert.html?seemore=y

Fat ALbert was a real person & his name is Albert Robertson. He died quite some time ago, but havent seen ne pixs of him yet.

reply

That's wierd! because I saw it 3 or 4 days ago and it was so bad I can't even remember the ending!

reply

The ending was really sweet.

This movie was harmless, and there's no real reason why anybody should really hate it. Just a nice movie to see after the Christmas holidays. I was entertained.

It was alright but it ruined one of my transdimensional theorums (im nerdy like that). What I thought to perhaps salvage it would be to make the travaler an outcast in his universe, but, that would be nonsencical as it is merely a mental property (exluding soul).

No good die young, they just die before, during, or after they *beep* up their lives superhonky

I didn't think much of the ending.. BUT I will agree, I did like the ending. And Keenan Thompson did very well capture Fat Albert. BUT.. I don't think the movie works on certain people, over a certain age, or below one. I mean let's face it alot of people go "Fatta what?"

I haven't seen the show in YEARS.. not since I was a kid almost 20 years ago, although I do remember seeing it had been released on dvd. And what's with the TV Land tie in? I have NEVER seen Albert on TV Land. I think the flick works mostly just for the "fun" of kinda messing with the characters.. like where Donald becomes "smart" and takes off the mask, Mushmouth leatns to speak.. but.it also ends up cheesy in spots too..

The ending was amazing. I grew up watching these characters in the 70's, and it was a great thing for me to see who the characters were based on. It was a touching tribute.

If anyone ever gets to listen to Bill Cosby's old stand-up routines, do so...they are hilarious, and they tell all about buck-buck, street football, Old Wierd Harold, Fat Albert, and the rest. As near as I can tell, they are based on Cosby's real life childhood friends. And I'm going to take a guess that was them at the end.

Not a bad movie, but the end is awesome. I was hoping that Cosby would pay some sort of tribute to the gang's real life counterparts, and he did.

Yeah I definitly loved the ending. I didn't cry but I did have tears in my eyes and I can't believe anyone could hate this movie, it was so good. And than in the end when Fat Albert came out saying" Hey, you in the back! Don't leave yet! The movie's not over!" and when he said "Hey the girl over there, stop crying(or he said something like that)"I started laughing. I hope I get to buy this movie on DVD, it's one of the best. Espcially the ending =)
