I've seen the show and the movie and in it Rudy was completely different.
In the show, Rudy was a cocky,idiotic,JERK but in the movie he was sweet, a little cocky and smart. In my opionin movie rudy is WAAAAY better than Rudy from the old show

shareThe Rudy from the original show was actually the rich kid of the bunch. He didn't stay in the projects. That is why when all the kids would be singing, the were playing with instruments made from the junkyard and Rudy had a real electric guitar. Wish they would bring the show back on TVland or something. Really really miss it with the BBBBRRROOOOOOOOOWWWWWWNNNN HHHHOOORRRNNNEEETTT!!!!!!!

i agree, the movie rudy was a lot better because he was more nice. the rudy from the old cartoon was a cocky jerk.

If he was like the old school Rudy, he would have upstaged Reggie. The OSR was like an Eddie Haskel archtype, as was Reggie Mantle on Archie, Nellie Forbush on LHoTP, & Reggie Whatecerhislastnamewas on this movie. Of coarse, there's that buckbuck guy in the cartoon.

I seem to remember when rudy walks, he moves one of his arms out in front of him and moves his head from side to side like he's shaking it. I sometimes imitate him in real life every blue moon. So I was expecting it in the movie which disappointed me. I also imitate Old Dumb Harold where he puts his hands together behind his head and moves his hands up and down. CLASSIC!!!

I think the reason he changed was because they all made transformations when they came out of the TV.

Rudy (though his seemed to happen throughout the movie instead of at a certain point) he was much sweeter and nicer.
That's how I always thought of that but who knows... he's still cool either way.
I was looking forward to one one Rudy's stupid jokes like when he calls one of them "recess" and they ask "why you call me recess?" and he says "because you've got no class".
He was a jerk on the show and always picked on Russell. I liked the movie Rudy better!
