What would've made this movie better...

If they had kept Fat Albert and the gang as cartoon characters even when they entered the real world, this would've been an even better movie, like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or Space Jam.

The voice actors were perfect though, I wouldn't want them to change a thing on that.

And of course, the animation is practically the best part of the whole film, so no need for changes there either.

nah, I think making them "real life" was the entire basis of the movie, you lose that, you lose the whole point.

by the way, im going to start crying during Anime, hopefully i can conjure up some hot anime girls who want to fix MY problem.

Just remember to let a tear drop on the remote, maybe it will have the same radiation effect it did in the movie.

Not making it at all and just leaving it as the classic cartoon it was.

Hollywood knows no limits.

Anyone have any thoughts about the idea of Doris going into the TV and the gang remaining animated instead of them coming out to the real world?

Having them stay true to the cartoon versions of the characters for one. Fictionalizing these to be Cosby's real friends and going for a tear jerker ending wasn't fun either. People think the story in the movie is true when Bill and Russell Cosby were the only people that actually existed. The rest came from Cosby's stand up routine. Finally it needed Kel. Kennan is just not as funny without him. Had Rudy been the loudmouth klutz of the cartoon, and had the movie focused on the gang with Rudy (as often happened) getting them in trouble, this could of been a classic. I often watch Rudy and see Kel doing his stunts. Fat Albert could have set him straight at the end and we would have had a good flick. Just let them be real life the whole way through and get a better plot. Set the movie in seventies as well. These guys belong there and they needed the FUNKY SONGS. The modern music is particularly jarring. Imagine a funk jam of theme song....ah wasted opportunity. Oh well there are 110 great cartoons and three of the four TV specials are around. I can also always watch the old Kenan and Kel's which I am lucky enough to have on DVD too. Both are better than this misguided movie that just doesn't have the old magic of either show.

I think if they had the writers of those '90's Brady Bunch movies on board it would have been a riot. It had the same basic premise of out of place people comically interacting with the modern world and those movies are the gold standard of that as far as I'm concerned.

I'm genuinely convinced that every movie would be better with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it.
