I knew it as soon as Bowler Hat Guy gave Goob "the pep talk". Similarly, I guessed Lewis was Cornelius when the robot said there was a 99.999% chance Wilbur wouldn't exist, but I don't think it was supposed to be as big of a reveal.
ABC, 123, that girl wore her jeans like me. I bet she's mad, 'cos I look fab. Hahaha, JACK MY SWAG.
On that topic, I think that the Lewis-Cornelius link was always part of the story, but the Goob-BHG link was
something that was arrived at as the filmed story developed and they made the final decisions on the plot direction.
I personally don't think that Goob would turn out to look like BHG; their faces are much too different, even for child-adult metamorphosis.

Watched it tonight, I figured the Goob / Bowler Hat twist about five or ten minutes or so before they met face to face in the orphanage. Knew Bowler had to be someone from Lewis' past, and it was either Wilbur or Goob and Goob seemed more villainous.
However, I didn't see the final scene coming, where we find out his family started at the science fair. That was a nice touch.
It's been a few years since I first saw it. I don't remember when I realized it all. I think I might have guessed that Lewis was the dad because 1.)the way the robot acted when meeting Lewis 2.)Wilbur said, "Put this hat on. The hair is going to be a dead give away." and 3.)They wouldn't show what the dad looked like. But like a previous poster mentioned, I didn't see the ending coming. Him meeting his adopted parents and Franny at the science fair? Nope. I was surprised. This movie is so sweet! It's one of my favorite Disney movies!

I'm forever ashamed that I didn't pick up on any of the twists until they were plainly revealed. But I think it's better that way, because then I got to experience the surprise they were going for. :)
