surely it must be fake. the cameras are a big give away right? her parents surely would have caught on with all the cameras there.
besides, i think anyone with brains would have realised that they were being duped ie randi. the stuff the guy was doing was just over the top and anyone would know there was something funny going on.

Wow, first off I would like to say that computer jargon is extremely lame. Seriously, does it take THAT much more effort to type 'you' than 'u'? Maybe to the intellectually inept, but that's neither here nor there. Anyways, the Coys were given a reason as to why the cameras were around. They told them something to the effect that they were taping their wedding because they had won something for a nice, free wedding...The family knew about the cameras in other words.
As for your ideas 2-4..wow, did you even watch the show or did you just catch the preview while flipping through TV land?
2 is just lame. It gives the family no purpose for being there. Also the show couldn't be called My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance without the the big fat obnoxious fiance.
3 Randi's family was there. Her sister was there and some of her friends were there.
4 If the family gave up and disapproved of the wedding, no one would have won the money.

i agree with you silentbobtwin (great name by the way) if she had actually watched the show properly, she would have picked up some major big hints to all her questions
1 - the episode when randi and steve announced they were getting married in three day on 'NATIONAL TELEVISION'
2 - at the final reveal, Steve said "...we did not meet on a reality dating show and fall in love, we met right here, on this very spot a couple of weeks ago...."
3 - steve had to act like that or the whole 'fake wedding' would have gone to smoothly and the challege of getting her family to attend the wedding and not object to it would have been to easy to have been worth it.
It wasn't a fake, my old choir teacher's brother is steve... she was pretty excited about steve being on the show... so it was completely real no extra- spoofs
