That's what this show SHOULD be called. If my daughter came to me and said she was in love and was engaged... I would be happy for her and wish her the best. This family just cares about is how he is gonna fit into the family and make this look.
"He's kind of overweight and piggish looking"
"I lost all respect I had for him"
This family sickens me.
Oh my Gosh, what will they say at the country club...
Yeah, same here... the family acts like they can totally control and approve of who Randi is with. If you get what I'm saying, lol. Its horrible, its her 'wedding' and her 'decision'. They should just stay out of it. But be in the 'wedding'. ~koolaidans~
yeah really, what if they were understanding? the show would obviously end with a happy ending and she'd get her money with no problems, but no, we get loop-holes and a snobby family that disapproves of steve just by his appearence, like they're all perfect and what-not, i can describe so many "ugly" features that her whole family posseses and it would start with their snobby attitudes. anyway, i think the whole thing is scripted and everyone is an actor. just look at that joe millionaire guy now, he's in all these commercials.
her father seems really uptight. you know put yourself in his shoes, this is his little girl here. anyway i bet after its all over he turns out to be a nice guy.
Well since you come from a classless family -- the kinds that give this country our junkies, losers, and STD sponges -- your opinion doesn't surprise me.
I agree with you. Looks shouldn't matter when it comes to love and looks is pretty much all this family cares about. I think that if they can't support her decision, then they aren't much of a real family and they don't love her as much as they claim. The oldest brother, Pat, is complaining about how she isn't thinking of them. Why should she? She's the one "in love", not him. He needs to grow up and act like the older brother instead of a child.
The oldest brother was so obnoxious. He was only thinking about what effect the marriage would have on him. I laughed my ass off when Randi said why she thought the money would be good for the family and she said "Pat, I thought you could finally move out". My boyfriend looked over at me and said, "That explains a lot".
"Don't you snap at me unless you want an angry Solid Gold dancer on your hands."
But, I would be less than thrilled if my daughter (if I had one) or my brother broke the news to me that she did to her family.
From what I undertand, they said that they had only been dating for two weeks, and were only engaged for three days. If a relative of mine was in a situation like that, AND her fiance's behavior modeled that of Steves, I would certainly NOT want the marriage to go forward.
That being said, they probably are all in on it, if not selective editing brought you the comments like "He's kind of overweight and piggish looking." It's the producer's job to sensationalize things, although I do agree looks are a silly reason to get married or not.
Do you kids want to be like the real UN or do you want to squabble and waste time
Someone posted something on another thread that made me laugh my head off, what's up with the older brother, is he in love with his sister or what., that my friend is comedy. Steve's character may be a bit obnoxious but he's not that bad. I'm really hoping she does not get the money at all. Or if anything, like 10,000 tops. She really deserves something but not enough to help her family. What they should do is this, whoever attented the wedding and didn't reject it , should get some money.
I agree. It's mostly about the weight. Obnoxoiusness is not so much an issue as that. The members of the family probably have to hide their faces when they walk down the street.
