Why Can't women speak up!

I laughed hysterically at this movie but the one thing that always makes me so angry is to see a woman who cannot speak up for herself! That Sack person was an awful jackass and instead of saying so, she just keeps quiet like a little lost sheep and let's him dictate her life. I just wish for once that the girl would tell them off BEFORE it goes too far and not just take it for the sake of someone else.

Contraversial to what is said, women are attracted to the traits Sack displayed. All the "bad" traits that he displayed are actually good traits subconsciously.

"Jackass" - Does what he wants, shows that he is dominant...
Cheating - It shows that he is high value as other women want him.
Aggressive - Manly, tough, strong

You're a clueless idiot. Only confused little girls are attracted to jerks that treat them like crap.

girls are attracted to boys

women are attracted to MEN

reply

Oh this is such a stupid comment.

Women that have been ****ed and chucked to the curb for 20 years are attracted to weak men with a crap ton of cash so they can survive the last years of their pitiful lives.

All other women are attracted to a$$hole men. Girls are attracted to bad boys, women are attracted to bad boys, 'spent' women are attracted to weak men with $$$. Some women get the bad boy and $$$ and come crawling back for more with their a$$hole husband.

this comedy was for sure one of the best of last decade ...

but seriously women who complain about the sexism are so wrong .. there are dirty, rich men like these two wedding crashers all around. women fall for money and sense of humor any day of the week (trust me I would know) ...

this movie definitely doesn't stereotype women in a disgraceful way ...

They're not stupid. It's more the fact that's just how they are wired. Beta males consider women stupid and blame them for not possessing those alpha qualities women like in a man. You have to understand that women are different from men and can't help what they are naturally attracted to.

It's part of why this is such a bad movie.

THe protagonist is such a schmuck that they had to make his love rival a total sociopath to make him seem like the better choice, when really it just makes the woman look pathetic.

I know a little German... he's right over there.

The movie shows quite clearly the growing that Wilson's character does, leaving the boys club to find something meaningful. The series of scenes with Will Farrel only reinforce his change in attitude. That said, why is the woman pathetic for recognizing how bad things with the one are and leaving it behind in favor of the better option? It's theatric and simplistic but is this really the place to be looking for deep motivation?

Sadly, this happens a lot in real life. Some women get used to being in a relationship and they choose to stay in it even when it's no longer healthy.

We don't really get a back story, but I'm assuming Sack was really nice to Claire in the beginning. She fell for him and, as time went on, he slowly started to show his true colors. By the time the film starts, we're at a point where he's a jerk more often than not. Claire now feels trapped in the relationship, but doesn't know how to get out. Their families are close and her father obviously takes a lot of pride in the idea of them getting married. Sack has a few scenes where he's nice and loving with her and I'm sure she clings to those moments and makes excuses for the moments when he's a total jerk (lots of women do this!).

I get the sense that Claire hangs around with a lot of snobby rich people and she's attracted to John because he's funny and easy going. Being around him helps her see how bad things are with Sack...it's pretty bad when you feel more comfortable around a stranger than you do around your longtime boyfriend. She can be herself around John and this sparks something in her. It helps her to pay more attention to that voice inside that tells her to get out of that relationship (with Sack).

That may be true, but she could have at least punched him out.

I adored Rachel in this movie but I also had a problem with her character. I understand how she felt very pressured to sustain the relationship and eventually marry the guy because of how important it was to her family, and probably because she had been with him for so long, but it was frustrating to see her just quietly accept it whenever he was horrible to her.

She didn't speak up when he decided they were getting married without even asking her. She looks miserable at her own engagement party, but she just won't say anything. It was obvious that she and her father were very close, and he would want what was best for her. It really seemed like if she had told him she didn't want to marry the guy, her father would have completely understood and cancelled the wedding. There might have been some pressure in "joining the families" but I think most of it came from her own weak will. She finally dumped him in the end but not without John's encouragement.
