I havent laughed THIS hard since NAPOLEON DYNAMITE!

Ok, I was strolling through Hollywood video and I saw this dvd that caught my attention, SONS OF PROVO. "An amusing Boy Band spoof with a distinct Mormon Twist!" MORMON? Ok, I'm not a Mormon, but this mock-u-mentary peaked my interrest, so I rented it. Let me tell you, I havent laughed THIS hard since I saw NAPOLEON DYNAMITE!

This is a low budget film, but the guys who play the boy-band group EVERCLEAN, are just about the FUNNIEST group of guys I have EVER seen. From the moment I put in the DVD, I found myself laughing hysterically at the DVD MENU video clip. Yes, that page that allows you to choose to either play the film, go to the scene selection, play the special features, or simply set up the audio, THAT page...well, the 4 minute long video clip that was filmed JUST for that page, is one of the FUNNIEST things I have EVER seen....EVER!

This film has NO intentions to preach ANY Mormon gospel, or doctrine, and has NO INTENTIONS to be used as any kind of Mormon trainning to draw you into their religion....it's simply a background for the most ABSURD and HYSTERICAL comedy act that is SURE to leave you holding your gut and lauging for hours after it's over.

Trust me.....this film is clean, and FUNNY! If you thought Napoleon Dynamite was funny, then you HAVE to see this film. Not only do these guys put on the most ENTERTAINING show you have ever seen, you just HAVE to listen to the words of these songs. Songs like "Diddly Wack Mack Mormon Daddy" is a PERFECT example of how satire this is.

Look it up on your Netflix, or go to your Hollywood video or ask for it at Blockbuster...whatever it takes....you just HAVE to see SONS OF PROVO!

What a refreshing and splendidreview from someone who is not a "mormon." I, too, found this movie entertaining and hilarious.

You know what's really funny? The folks that name ND are Mormon, too. You must find those folks especially funny.

Napoleon Dynamite was terrible. I guess that means I won't be seeing this one either if people really liked both.

Well, never judge a movie by a totally different one... Yeah, I thought Napoleon Dynamite was boring, but I found Sons of Provo to be totally awsome! It caused my two friends, a swimmer and a football player, to make a boy band. I would have never seen that coming. Plus, it's got awsome people in it. Will Swenson is a mighty cool dude, and Kirby's the best. Never seen Danny in anything else, but he was great, and the movie was cool. It's absolutely different from ND. Even if you pass on the movie, the soundtrack is HILARIOUS!

I netflixed this movie, because our rental store sucks (Hollywood Video is a good store, but it's small and has nothing). I was soo excited to see it on netflix. I had seen previews and looked it up. I don't think that I have EVER laughed that hard at a movie. I am LDS, and I got most of the jokes (since I'm not from Utah, I didn't get all of them). I don't think I have ever laughed that hard at an LDS movie-not even Singles Ward! This is definately a movie to get at Deseret Book (or anywhere else that sells it). I want the soundtrack too!
