I want to see it!

I've been waiting very impatiently to see this movie. I really enjoyed the review of it and that spurned me to want to watch it even more. I live in America and in a very small town in the mountains. I'm trying to figure out how to see this movie, and that's why I'm writing for suggestions. Anyone? How might I see this movie, even on DVD -- I just want to see it!

Oh, and I live in California, if that helps.

So far I have loved every Brazilian movie I have seen. Two of the ones I have seen are somewhat painful to watch in their honesty, but fabulous for that very same reason. Those were Behind the Sun and Caradiru, both of which I would never reccomend to my mother who prefers watered down cutsie flicks like "Sweet Home Alabama". She prefers rose-colored glasses and all that.

Please, I'd really love to see this. The plots sounds intriguing and the Brazilians haven't let me down yet.

I don´t know if can find it to rent in your town, but you can certainly buy it at Amazon.com or www.somlivre.com.br or yet at www.dvdworld.com.br
Hope you enjoy it! It is great movie of this great director Daniel Filho.

No I didn't, actually; I hated "Sweet Home Alabama". It was uninspired and saccharine.

I didn't like this A Dona da História too.
Boring. Just a little useful when you're in your midle age crisis.

Screw you, guys. I'm going home ¬¬

Hello people!!!

I'm from Brasil, but living in the UK. I was talking to a friend who has the DVD of City of God, about Brazilian movies in general, telling him I'd like to introduce him to other kind of movies either than only the typical "reality and violence" such as the one he has...

So I am making a list of films I would suggest him to watch, but I'd like your opinions too, if you can help me, what would you recommend? So far I have thought of "O Invasor", "Bossa Nova", "O Homem que Copiava", maybe this one (but I haven't seen "A Dona da História" so I don't even know if I would like it or not...!)

I'd be very happy if you reply. The only condition is that the film must have the option of subtitles in English, since my friends here doesn't speak Portuguese at all.

Cheers!

A Partilha might be a good one to add to your list.

Yes, I thought this film was bad too. My family was watching this and I walked out to watch something else in another room.

Some of the women had seen it before and really liked it, but for me it had too much male-bashing and was too left-wing for my liking. Oh and it was also boring having to watch a lady in her upper 50's bitch at her husband all the time.
