"I drive truck"?

Glory ( Frances McDormand ) described her job at the plant in that manner several times.

It just seems like a strange, clipped way to say it. Why not "I drive a truck" or "I drive the trucks"?

"I drive truck" sounds like it was uttered by an 8 year old simpleton.

I live in northern Wisconsin and grew up in Minnesota. "I drive truck" is exactly how working class people here would say that. It is a definite class marker. Another class marker here is the use of "seen" instead of "saw," as in "I seen a bear on my way to work this morning."

Thanks for the answer. Interesting.

Not all working class people are ignorant of the English language. You should know better than to generalize an entire group or class of people.
