Ugh...the reason I hate this game...

Well, I don't know what it is, but I have six Chaos Emeralds and I CANNOT get the seventh...it's literally impossible. No matter what team I am, right when I get to the emerald, my game glitches and Sonic/whoever freezes and the emerald gets away...so I got a new copy from the Gamestop (this was when the game was new mind you), and it did the same thing...so I can't get the last ending, which sucks ass.
