Lauren Graham

I knew that she was in this movie, but from my understandings it was a very small almost unimportant role. I was very glad however to see that she had a much bigger role than how she was advertised as. And I really liked how they used that information about her being an exSEAL played out at the end. Actually I'm just a huge Lauren Graham fan anyway and I was excited to see her in something else besides Gilmore Girls (not saying anything bad about that show cause it's my #1!)

All in all i think she did a great job on her performance and I just really think she added a little something to the movie! What do you guys think?!

Yeah I agree with you I also watch Gilmore Girls and enjoyed her in this role. It seemed to me that Lauren and Vin felt comfortable with each other and she was a very likable character.

Looks like Shane will leave the seals and have a nice life as a teacher. Seeing that Lauren and Vin's characters have feelings for each other. Makes me think that the sequel that I heard makes me think they might get married in it.

reply

She was ex-Navy, but not a SEAL. :)

I think it might have been better if she were in it a bit more, actually.

Also, did it look to you that Vin had a hard time keeping a straight face after her reaction to the "stench" when he returned from the sewer? That was a great reaction from her LOL

reply

Yeah I agree Lauren did a great job!

Hella good that she finally got a considered role in a movie....i havent seen it yet but now that i know it im gonna rush to watch it..i mean i really LOVE her. Maybe she aint the best actress in the world (maybe she does, personally i like her) but i enjoy like hell watchin her in Gilmore Girls i mean she pmsl ALWAYS, shes special and i agree with the theory that she have a little of Lorelais personality bcos she acts it really natural and i think that is hard to act like that and be a complete different person..she plays her role quite great and thats wht i like the most of her and i think that to do it she puts a bit of herself..shes so funny!!.Besides i wouldnt be mad if she puts a bit of Lorelai, like i said shes soo funny and maybe, just maybe she was asked to actually do it, and im sure that she can make a totally different act if shes asked to, like in bad santa or sweet november where althought she had a tiny role she just seemed someone else totally different from Lorelai....just my point of view
Lorelai Rocks!! GG Rocks!!

I absolutely LOVE Lauren Graham. The only reason i really watched this movie was because i knew she was in it(not to mention Vin Diesel is FINE). Anyways, i think Lauren should have been included more in the film because she was obviously a very likable character. The kids characters didn't seem to dislike her either. I think she is an amazing actress. I agree with a lot of you when you said she always has that Lorelai "thing" to her...but i think its because in real life, she is just as quirky as her character on Gilmore Girls. It was cute to see the little romance between "Claire Fletcher and Shane Wolfe" develop because it had a little underlying plot that anyone who loves Lauren Graham would love(i mean HELLLOOOOO, she got to kiss Vin Diesel!). But like i said before, i think the movie would have been a little better if Lauren Graham showed up a little more and had a few more "witty" comments and conversations with and towards Vin Diesel. Anyways, i liked the movie overall and i think Lauren is an amazing actress. She should get large parts in movies more often (even though this wasn't really a "large part")...because she's amazing:-)

I also really LOVE Lauren Graham, I find that she is one of the best actresses I've ever seen and I'm a big fan of her and her work (especially on Gilmore Girls, my #1 fave show). I did notice a little Lorelai in this role but it's because she actually is like Lorelai, in Gilmore Girls she is pretty much acting herself out. She even mentioned coffee("would you like some coffee").
I didn't even know she was in this movie until I saw her name in the starting credits, I just watched this movie because it looked hilarious and I really wanted to see Vin Deisel in a comedy, she was like the bonus package of the movie. I do wish she was in this movie more though, I hope they make a part 2 where her and Vin Diesel go back to being in the navy and they get sent on a mission together or something.

I thought that she was pretty good in the movie. Lol. I thought the seen where he is covered in sewage and she is gagging was really funny. Plus, it was hilarious to hear them trying to pronouce Lorelai in the video commentary... Lol. I am a Gilmore girl fan. :)

What video commentary?

I love Lauren Graham...she is the best actress ever. Why she hasnt win an Emmy seize to amaze me everyday. I wish Lauren was in this movie more though. Her role was short and sweet but there could be so much more done with her character. I think she does have a bit of Lorelai in her, not that i dnt like that character. Major Gilmore girls fan. If you search for the video commentary online, i am sure you can find it and download it.

Ehhh...she was okay in this movie. I think she did a good job as the principal. She seemed to be able to work well with all the kids. She's gotten lots of experience there from the Gilmore Girls. However, I thought her scenes with Vin were really flat. It wasn't bad acting, I don't think. I just personally didn't feel they really had much chemistry together. I think the romance bit should have been left out. It wasn't needed and only detracted from the movie, IMHO.

Lauren in this movie still played Lorelai. I dunno what it is but she can't seem to act differently. Her performance is stuck with Lorelai.

Yet when I saw her on that show on Bravo, where celebrities play poker for charity and her interviews on Ellen and what you find is that she really is very similar to Lorelai so in essence whenever she "plays herself" she is playing Lorelai because Lorelai is a more exaggerated version of who she is in real life...

Which is why all her parts seem so similar to each other because are they mere extensions of her in her real life...

I wish there was more to her in the film or that she was allowed to sort of become a little more "Lorelai" in her wit.

She had nothing to work with. Her character was barely in the movie at all, and if you ask me, barely warranted that kiss at the end. The movie would have functioned perfectly without her there; like most other people on this board, all I could see was Lorelai!
