I cry when I see those scenes.
Parents should be locked up for life.
Their mother had the hate handed down to her from her father. Now those girls will pass it onto their kids.

It was amazing that the girls, through the innocence of childhood and I guess the natural goodness of human nature, could be so sweet despite having such an evil influence controlling their lives. At once it gave me faith in humanity and also made me despair of it.
Knowing that they would likely turn into their mother was heart-breaking.
Apparently they are fans of people like Ravi Shankar, Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix nowadays, so both girls appear to have wriggled out from under their mother’s heinous influence.

As tfkennedy has written above, that is a big relief.
That Mother really seemed to be in her own world, and the kids went along with it. They didn't really have a clue, it seemed like they didn't even have any friends!
They were hardly musicians either.
I hope they just move on from their Mother, she was a bad influence to them, and just hindering their future, that's what I think.
I googled them and apparently they managed to get rid of their mother's influence. Apparently they accept other cultures now and they understand what was wrong in their upbringing. I really hope they succeeded in this.
