Okay guys, fans, whatever, here is a petition link. Now, I know what some of you may be thinking "But Peter Jackson decided not to do it", well it was more of the way that New Line twisted his arm that forced him to back out. Here is a link to a petition, and maybe we can stop a crap movie from being made by a hack director, and get New Line to take P.J. back. Sign please, thanks.

I already signed the petiton, there are two more, one at theonering.net (that has already over 40,000 signatures) and another one at theonering.com. This last site has actually two petitions, one for bringing back Jackson to do "The Hobbit and another one to go ahead without him. The one that is pro-Jackson has some 650 signatures the one that is anti-Jackson has 15.

I thinks that it is complete and utter foolishness to jeopardize such a lucrative partnership because of some dumb f **king lawsuit. Just pay the man what he deserves. If they do "The Hobbit" with Jackson they will more than make their money back, just look at the "LOTR" trilogy's phenomenal success!!!

Without Jackson it would be at worst a complete disaster and at best an abject, mediocre, sub-par failure! I even doubt that the actors would return without Jackson!!!

I guess New Line Studios gives no heed to "if it ain't broke dont fix it"!

it's interesting that new line is stalling, it seems, when all that wingnut wants is an INDEPENDANT review of the books.

makes me wonder if wingnut and new line already know what the audit would say!

I would be okay, if Peter Jackson's just involved in any way with this project !!!
Even if he's just producing or something :(
WETA is also his company and MUST be added to this project !!!
Maybe like the Harry Potter Movies: Different Directors - Same actors, story, atmosphere...
Maybe Guillermo DelToro to direct THE HOBBIT (remembering Halo) and Peter Jackson (with WETA) to produce :)
Other great directors: Sam Raimi - Tim Burton - Terry Gilliam - Terry Jones ...

I think you can stop worrying about this now. Jackson's involvement is confirmed and Del Toro is hardly a 'hack director'. Maybe now we can just get on with being excited that the film is being made instead of bickering.

Ah, can we also sign a petition to get New Line and Sierra to release this exact same The Hobbit game for the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS????? Maybe with a few more updated features and levels, but in the same art and character style?

Petitioning New Line won't do any good since the game was based on the books not the movies.
