How's this movie?

Well?

I think that this movie has a nice production design (for an Indonesian movie). This movie is actually not bad at all, albeit utterly commercialized. Not that there's anything wrong by being commercialized, it's just that in some ways, nice and commercialized production design alone can guarantee that a certain movie can be a big hit within Indonesian teenage audiences. Top it with the hottest, cute and suave-looking cast members, and we've got ourselves Indonesia's biggest hit of the decade.

Soundtrack is okay.
However, for those familiar with Indonesian music scene, the soundtrack might be just too Melly Goeslaw-esque for you. I personaly find it quite boring.

At first, I suspected that Shandy Aulia would deliver BAD acting (rumour has it that she had to stay 2 extra years in middle school due to academic incompetence...but hey, it's just a gossip...) but I'm surprised that she's not bad at all for a first timer. Although her performance is terribly uneven, but she is cute and lovable after all, hee hee.

Samuel Rizal...I'm confused with him. I happen to know that he's a genuinely nice guy. He is, really! he's down to earth, friendly, and smart, but he needs to work on his acting skills. Not very fond of his intonation and speech in the movie, but the rest is fine.

Titi Kamal is great in this movie. Too bad it's only a cameo, though.

Helmy Yahya as Tita's Father is a MISCAST. he CANNOT act. it's very annoying! for those who doesn't know, Helmy Yahya is a prominent variety show / game show presenter, entrepeneur, and TV producer. I honestly think he should stick to those jobs, which he is brilliant at. In the movie, he speaks like he's responding to a TV caller of a live variety show! lol...

Anyway, I'm being too criticizing, no? lol...I'll stop now...
