Flowers placed by Dennis on Gray's room?

When Sam gave Gray supper, and she told him that he doesnt need
to do it, and Sam saw a flower placed on her desk beside her bed,
why was he kind of ticked off at what dennis did?

and what did he said to Gray when he asked her something about
white icky stain or something during that scene? i didnt get that scene..
