Nice personal story relating to this short...

About a year ago, my mother learned she'd need a minor operation to remove some small growths from her face. Nothing serious, but she learned that after the operation, she'd need to have large bandages over those parts of her face for at least a week or two afterwards, and was feeling extremely depressed and self- conscious in advance about having to go through that. That day when I called her (I was out of town, and didn't know about the operation until a few days later when she told me about it and the rest of this little story), I reminded her that the Pixar shorts special would be shown on ABC Family later that evening. I just figured she'd like it, since we're both Pixar fans. When I saw her a few days later, she told me that when she saw 'Boundin' in that special, it really hit home for her, she saw the dilemma the lamb went through in it as similar to her own. She pointed out how the short's moral on being able to carry on through hard times really helped give her a fresh outlook on things, and made her feel a lot better.
Hearing that further cemented a belief I already had: Good animated movies and shorts, be they by Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, or whoever, can appeal to adults every bit as much as they can to children.
Bless you, Pixar!
