I'm in LOVE with this short!

I just saw this little gem. It was played before "The Incredibles." The main feature was OK, but I totally fell in love with "Boundin"! It was worth the price of admission alone.

I need to find the text of the little poem, although I'm not sure it will have the same affect without the beautiful voices.

It's a 10!

...and that's all I have to say about that.

I gave both Boundin' and The Incredibles a rating of 9/10. They were both great (but very different).

A very funny short that was followed by an even better movie.

(Pixar scores again.)

Note: The above comments are exclusively my opinion.

I absolutely loved it too! The sheep's dancing was priceless! I REALLY HOPE DISNEY MAKES A STUFFED ANIMAL OF THE SHEEP! I WOULD BUY IT IN NO TIME!! ^_^

reply

SWEET! With removable fleece? That'd be great!

...and that's all I have to say about that.

reply

LOL!

Removable fleece would be great. Maybe they could use velcro...

I loved it too!!! I usually don't see kid flixs, but i fell in love with the dancing sheep and the jackalope... LOVED the feature film also!!! I would pay admission to see it again!!!

Will it be included in the DVD??? I hope so!! ;)

Disney should put something related to Boundin' in Frontierland in The Magic Kingdom and in Disneyland. I don't know if the short is popular enough to have it's own attraction, but I'd love to see a guy in a big Jackalope suit walking around, I would love that.

Hey, heres the lyrics for boundin', after searching for it on some websites for a little while I found one all with bad grammer and stuff, so I decided to fix it a bit to make it sound like it does in the film. Now if some words are wrong, its because of the original writer who wrote this down from the film.

Oh and by the way, I love the film. After watching the other small documentarys about Boundin' and realizing that Bud Luckey did all the voices in the film, as well as creating all the characters for Toy Story 1 and 2 as well as A Bugs life, I've become more impressed with him. Especially if he's been creating the animation that has been teaching little kids back in the older days with Sesame street, wow. Thats cool. Oh well, heres the lyrics.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lyrics for Boundin'

Narrator : Here's a story on how strange is life with its changes and it happened not long ago. On a high mountain plain, where the sagebrush arranges a playground south of the snow.

Narrator : Lived a lamb with a coat of remarkable sheen, it would glint in the sunlight all sparkly and clean. Such a source of great pride that it caused him to preen.

Narrator : And he'd break out in high-steppin' dance.

Narrator : He would dance for his neighbors across the way, I must say that they found his dancin' enhancin' for they'd also join in the play.

Narrator : Then one day..

LATER..

Narrator : Then a-boundin' up the slope came a great American Jackalope. This sage of the sage, this rare hare of hope, caused to pause and check out the lamb.

Jackalope : Hey, kid, why the mope?

Sheep : I used to be something all covered with fluff and I'd dance in the sunlight and show off my stuff.

Sheep : Then they hauled me away in a manner quite rough and sheared me and dumped me back here in the buff.

Sheep : And if that's not enough, now my friends laugh at me 'cause they think I look ridiculous funny and pink.

Jackalope : Pink? Pink? Well what's wrong with pink? Seems you got a pink kink in your think. Does it matter what color? Well that gets a nope. Be it pink, purple or heliotrope.

Jackalope : Now, sometimes you're up, and sometimes you're down when you find that you're down, well just look around. You still got a body, good legs and fine feet, get your head in the right place and hey, you're complete.

Jackalope : Now as for the dancin' you can do more. You can reach great heights, in fact you can soar. You just get a leg up and you slap it on down, and you'll find you're up in what's called "a bound", bound, bound and rebound. Bound and you're up, right next to the sky. And I think you can do it if you give it a try.

Jackalope : First, get a leg up, slap it on down.

LATER..after all the sheep does his boundin'

Narrator : So every year, along about May, they'd load him up and they'd haul him away. And they'd shave him and dump him all naked and bare.

Narrator : He learned to live with it, he didn't care.

Narrator : He'd just bound, bound, bound and rebound.

Narrator : Now in this world of ups and downs...so nice to know there are jackalopes around.

Thanks, I went looking for the actual song online...did not find it. Hopefully Disney releases it somewhere.

Many thanx! Love all about this short and I think it felt a litle bit of folk from old times. Just great to have lyrics now. Thanx a lot!

I remember first seeing this when I was 12 and thinking that it was... just okay. A little odd compared to what I was used to. Yeah, so a sheep learns to rebound? Anyone can do that.

Now I'm 18 and I gotta say, I truly appreciate Boundin' now. Maybe that's just my weird self but it's actually quite inspiring! Coping with life's ups and downs can be tricky but it's worth the effort. This is definitely a feel-good feature. :D

Man, I love Pixar...

Mother, do you think they'll like this song?

Me too.

I agree. "Boundin" is probably the best animated short I have ever seen. The poetry, voices, music and animation come together perfectly. It's well-directed too. I gave it 9/10.
