'This film is about About 3 Women who sell their souls to the devil in the face of AIDS....'
Chloe Sevigny introduced this film at the Phila Gay /Lesbian Film Festival this summer...we saw the director extended cut...amazing film, and after being introduced to the film in 'that way',I looked for eveidence of what three women had to do, make a pact with the devil... Made sense, and don't want to give away spoilers, but they did what they had to do whether it was for or against their belief systems in the face of AIDS...in essesne, the women played by Lucy Lui, Stockard Channing and Chloe Sevigny all 'sold their souls to the devil'

Profound insight of the ulterior theme (aside from the obvious AIDs theme) that significantly pulls these stories together. The “heroine” of each vignette sold her soul in order to survive. As women, haven't we all had to face this ultimate dilemma at one point in our lives? I don't like to remember, but at one time, i thought i had no choice: it was a matter of survival.

I don't know if I consider that it was solely about the three women. I'd argue that the first movie was more about Tong Sam than Lucy Liu. Everyone in the film was implicated in one way or another in a moral gray area. Is it making a pact with a devil? Pah, you could call it that. It's just surviving. No one is morally pristine, in and out, always and forever.
