Something I didn't understand

The porn actor's mother suspected he has AIDS right? That's why she took his blood for a test, then why did she lick the infected blood? I don't think I got this whole part with her selling her life insurance, did she want to be infected on purpose and die because of the loss of her husband and future loss of her son?

Candies in a dream are a dream and not candies.

She infects herself with her son's blood on purpose. If she can prove that she is terminally ill and will die within seven years or less, she can collect a large sum of money by selling her life insurance. She tries different ways to get infected with the virus (the swingers club). She intentionally puts a hole in the condom and has sex with the guy. Her last resort is the son's blood.

reply

Yes but for what does she need that large sum of money if she & her son are going to die?

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.

reply

She wants them to have everything they've ever wanted since they have little time left. She does this horrible thing to herself to ensure that she and her son will experience comfort, at least for a little while.

reply

how do you sell your life insurance? is that legal?

reply

whoa... never knew there was a business to this. this is a scary world we live in...

nevertheless, i'd say this movie is a good watch ^_^

But why even infect herself at all? Her son consistently faked his HIV test by swapping his infected blood with his father's. Why not just reverse the scam to get the positive test and the doctor's affidavit, keep her health and her life, take the money and her son, and run to somewhere warm, tropical, and without an extradition treaty?

reply

The test would have noted a massive amount of testosterone in her blood sample. Blood can't tell your age, but it can distinguish the sex of the person giving it.

reply

I think you're confusing blood with urine.

She switched her blood with her son's - it was a reversal of what he did with his father's blood.
