Production Costs?

anybody have an idea what the production costs for this show were? I must say the special effects on this show were better then most movis i have seen.

reply

The show cost about 4.5 million pounds which was a generous TV budget but hard to compete with the Hollywood productions. Glad you think we did a good job.

If you're really who you say you are, I just wanna say THANKS!...you've given Hardcore Cosmophiles and Armchair Astronauts a compelling vision of what may be one day, given enough global enlightenment.

Well, Chris, the big Hollywood productions might have all the money, but they pay no attention to the kind of subtle details you guys did!
I mean, just the shuttle tiles on the Cupola alone is worth the price of the DVD for me!

The hard suit for the Venus excursion is something NASA could use right now: then astronauts wouldn't have to pre-breathe pure oxygen for hours & hours before an EVA, since they'd be pressurized at normal sea-level 14.7 psi.

The list of cool details is as long as my arm, and I will be studying it ad infinitum!

Just out of curiosity, did NASA put in any funding?

Thanks for sharing this

I thought it was an excellent piece and very inspiring both on the film production side and on the science side for people in both realms.

Excellent Television.

Thank you for bringing this to life.
