What happened to the dead crewman?

Did they send his body off in space? or away in a "giant sunglass case" (as Seinfeld would say) Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention but seems like any funeral or remembrance was skipped over. I only caught the last half.

Great show though.

After he died the crew went to a 24 hour "blackout" of communication to Earth. During this time John's body was wrapped in what looked like an aluminium blanket and one of the astronauts took him outside a let his remains float into the rings of Saturn. During that time the crew decided to continue the mission on to Pluto. If you were watching the U.S. version all this may have been edited out as that version had the crew not go on to Pluto but return to Earth stopping at the comet on the was. Hope this helps.

I just finished watching it again on a Region 1 BBC version. I must say it is awe inspiring, especially given the lack of human space exploration that developed after the moon landings. Sad.

Yes. Unfortunately we are too busy fighting ourselfs. No time to waste in space. Need to develop more guns and bombs and secure the last oil.
