On the 40th episode did they show "the thing upstairs"? Or did it have some other conclusion?

There was a big battle between Rogg and some other monster.. you were led to believe he died, until an extra bit after the credits. I think they all said g'bye to the audience or something stupid like that.

Actually, if you watch a bit more, the big red monster pops up again and goes RUUUUGGGHHH! and then the scene fades to black. So it isn't quite as corny.
Almost as if the writers couldn't quite bring themselves to have a nice, soppy ending without injecting another last jab of black humour!
