Favourite Monster

I'll start the ball rolling.

How's about that multi-eyed armless beast from 'Sniff That!'.

It was quite scary (as a child, mind!)

Simple. Rogg. No question. He could brave the horrors of living in the Trapdoor's catacombs and still be a sort of slumbering anti-hero.

I love the way he's portrayed as this sort of lumbering oaf... but when all hell's breaking loose and the others can't deal with the present horror that's slithered out, Rogg just looks at it(and yes, I am thinking of that annoying pest Bubo with this one), scratches his head, rumbles: "Be-e-erk don't lo-i-i-ke you"... and twats him clear off the field.

Legend!

... and I am actually still disturbed by the demonic growlings of The Splund, too.

The final episode where Rogg stands up for his friends and 'dies' makes me cry every time I see it and I'm 26!

I liked that pale pink slug-thing from 'The Pain' too.

Ahh, I know - that little synth-tune that plays really pulls a string, doesn't it. "No, Berk. He's gone. Gone... forever."

Oh, on a lighter note: the Flying Spongy Thing. Possibly the most understated creature ever to emerge from the grimy oaken portal: comes out, floats down, makes oddly appealing whining noise, gets chased off.

Brilliant.

That noise the sponge made is VERY funny!
Even just thinking about Rogg's 'death' produces a lump in my throat which few live action dramas have ever done.

The 'big black thing with lots of legs' was scary too. Cool but scary.

That Big Red Thing was just a total #$%#! :)

I quite liked The Splund with his rasping but also menacing voice.

How can you not mention the the little Demon that gives Boney a dream of having a body and berk and drutt change colours. Also an honourable mention for the big cabbage head that shoots lighting out of his eyes and makes Berk little.
