My fav episode is the one where berk has a plant that eats the flies that came out of the trap door.

shareMy favorite was the radio or as berk called it a radlio. it was cool to see all the monsters dqancing to the trap door theme and hearing it in full. and yes every single one seen was dancing.
i have a VHS of this and seeing this has made me wanna go home and watch it. cya :P
My favourite is definitely "Bugs", where thousands of bugs invade the castle via the trapdoor. The highlight of this episode is definitely where Berk falls through the castle Roof and lands on the Thing Upstairs bed, who gets upset and kicks him out of his room.

My favourite is the first appearance of the little yellow buboe as Berk later called him.
"Oh look! He's got a little hole in the top of his head! Bet you can guess what i'm going to do now!"

First episode I ever saw was 'The Little Thing', and that got me hooked

One episode that sticks in my mind is where Berk dreams that Boni has been kidnapped down the trap door and he jumps down there to rescue him and see all those monsters. That episode scared the bejebus out of me when I was a kid!

Always a hard one to pin down this - but since we recently spent a good 2 hours round the box having a 40-ep Trapdoor marathon(without doubt THE best thing to watch the evening after the night before), I'd have to say: the first time they all meet Rogg("hellooooo Beeeeerk!"); the almost Python-esque Flying Spongy Thing, and the one with the whining baked-bean that morphs into a trumpet.
Christ, this prog was absolutely stone-BONKers - I laughed even more now than I did when I was a kid - but also quite poignant in places: the ep at the end of Season 1 where Berk finally 'as enough and wanders off into the sunset, and the end of Season 2 where, right up to the last reel, the gang think that Rogg's been killed in a fight to the death with the Big Red Thing; really thoughtfully written and actually quite touching.
Agree with the recent comment 110% - they do NOT make kids' TV like this anymore. Just pray to whatever deity U worship that this doesn't come back as CGi.

the only episode i reconised was the fishing episode which was Rog's first appearance.
"DRUTT! STOPE EATING THOSE WORMS YOU GREEDY LITTLE SOD!!! (BONKS Drutt on the head) what am i goin to use for bait then? (Bony spots the ape-like thing (Rog) & tries to alert Berk) and you can SHUDDUP as well, (hits Bony) all you did was moan all day, i just want a nice..." "but there's something behind you" "something?" (turns around) "BOO!" (gets startled & falls into the swamp)

God, I forgot about this one - absolutely terrifying when I was a kid; that's that one with the bloated, pink balloon-thing with the growly synthesized voice, innit: "Whhhaaat... do yooou... mmmmmTAAASTELIKE?!?!?

There is one called 'The Splund' and one called 'Scunge'. Which one do you mean? (they're ALL great of course.)

shareThe bit where he licks Berk. Eeeugh! Also quite a good portrait of how some bullies work. The Splund just kept being creepy and intimidating, but was exposed as a 'big bag of wind' - demonstrated when Berk stands up to him. Quite accurate!
