You are right, I can tell by reading the posts. There's no sympathy for any of the customers or criticism on how the employee handled a particular customer. Everyone acts like airline employees are the perpetual victims and customer are always wrong.

Even though this is supposed to be Southwest's show, they do show times when the employee does not have moral high ground, or they are acting in their interest because there is no incentive to help the customers.

Oh really now? I have never worked for an airline, so much for your theory.

I've had a pain in the a$$ for the past 45 years! You got any soup for that?

I worked for the airlines in the 80s and 90s at JFK. I can see both sides of the argument. I do remember that on some days, the "crazies" came out of the woodwork. Some passengers were just unessecarily rude, whereas others bordered on bizarre, and even aggressive. A lost bag does not give anyone the right to get physical. Believe me, I even saw this, although rare. Consequently, many airline employees, developed a self defense mechanism or protective shell, to be ready and not caught off guard by a rude or aggressive passenger. Of course, I can see that this translates as a snotty worker to the passenger. For my time with the airlines, I like to use the analogy of a fire hydrant; in other words I was the hydrant, and dogs would routinely urinate on me. Yeah, you get resentful. But, I had enough and moved on to other things. There are easier or better ways of making money, and you get treated as a human being.

This show Highlights the bad customers, and very rarely show the other side of the coin. Do you think SWA would reaslly let them film their employees in a bad light? The longer you watch, you do see the employees make a mistake or two, but then they show how the airlines is going to make it all right again. It's a publicity tool for the airline more than anythig else.
