Only One Season's Episodes

I notice that all the episodes were filmed in 2004. Southwest must have intially thought that this would program would show their employees as caring, helping iindividuals. However, they must have concluded after that first season that more often than not, their employees look like officious jerks.

One such instance was the show where nobody would would make a decision as to whether or not to let a woman take her tiny little dog on the plane with her. it was in a small carrier and had flown with the woman before. They finally went to the pilot and he just said, "No, can't fly." That really made them look bad.

Then there was the show with the arab man who got mad and called the employee a few names and they threw him out of the airport. The employee then told the camera that he could have let the man fly but he didn't because of his bad attitude. I thought that made the employee look like he was on some kind of a power trip and that it made the airline look bad.

Then there was the show about the storm that delayed all the flights in Detroit and they had a huge line of people in Chicago trying to get flight information at the counter. The counter guy started screaming at the people that he could only help them one at a time and to stay back. He could have done that a lot more nicely and not sounded like some drill sergeant. Then, a female employee showed the viewers a "love cart" with soft drinks on it for all the people that had to wait, and she just cooed about how much they care for their passengers. It looked to me like that was the least they could do. The whole episode made Southwest look bad, I thought.
