Not a great ad for airline travel

The employees I see on this show are so cold and uncaring. And the wild thing about it is that the act this way ON CAMERA. You would think that being that what's happening is being caught on tape and possibly broadcast on television, the employees would make EVERY EFFORT to rectify any problems without callousness. Sadly, I don't see it.

The airline industry should shudder at this show.

It's good TV, but it's not selling me on airline travel at all.

I think this is the worst advertising that Southwest could want. I have flown other carriers and they have never had any of the dumb rules and policies that Southwest has. Know that I've seen this show I will NEVER fly Southwest.

All the airlines are basically the same, with some good employees and some not as good. The employees are just people, not robots, and they will try to be nice and accommodating but they have to follow the rules. Rules of which there are more and more of.

If you ever get the chance to speak to a person that works at the airport they will certainly have some stories for you.

"Airline" is going to show the more "interesting" customers. I'm sure the sober, nice and understanding flyers out number the crazies but the show is undoubtedly going to favor the whack jobs.

I could never work at the airport. Just meeting one of those loud, angry flyers would send me over the edge. I don't know how those people do it day after day.

They were very nice to that idiot who was carrying his cat in a soft carry on bag. He didn't see anything wrong with what he did and wanted to continue to do. That kind was not normal but they were all acting like he was.

Obviously you didn't see the episode where the Alzheimer's patient soiled himself and Customer Service Manager Mike cleaned him up. That seemed truly beyond the call of duty.

Most of the time I agree with the choices the customer service people on this show make. If you act up or get drunk, you don't fly. What's cold and uncaring about that? Does this mean you actually want to fly with drunk and belligerent people or you're just an advocate for the drunk and belligerent?

The only consistently bad apple on this show is that Nicholas character, who has the disadvantage of an off-putting language barrier combined with a severe lack of flexibility.

I don't watch this show because I think the SW employees suck, but I'm surprised how many people here are labeling the customers the bad guys. The employees are so calloused and uncaring to the customer's problems that I don't understand why they got into that line of work anyways. When I was a waiter I may not have cared if all of my customers had the best experience, but they never would've known that because I didn't show it. If a problem ever raised it's ugly head I can promise you I did everything in my power to fix it.

The customers are morons.

I've had a pain in the a$$ for the past 45 years! You got any soup for that?

reply

Exactly. It's not the employees fault they have to deal with such low-class customers. They're just dealing with drunks and irates the best they can. And the customers get angry as a defense mechanism because they know they screwed up (by being late, drinking, or whatever).

i actually think the employees are too nice to the customers. these people flying are *beep* i fly on southwest alot and have not had too many issues. they lost a bag once but delivered to the place i was staying like 2 hrs away but that's about it

People compare this to other jobs, saying the employees are cold and uncaring, well last time I checked, when you work in a restaurant you don't have to worry about 1000s of peoples lives every day because I doubt a terrorist is going to aim for the diner down the street

Go Southwest!

Some of the customers were among the stupidest people on the planet.

You got the people who leave the security area to have a cigarette, 10 minutes before departure, and then blame the airline for them losing their flight.

You got others who arrive 20 minutes before departure at LAX, try to take stuff that isn't allowed on carry-on luggage through security, then have to check their bag and blame the airline 'cause they miss that flight and get rebooked for one leaving only one hour later.

There's those that pack vital medicines in their checked luggage and then get upset because the luggage left for their destination but they missed the flight. Of course it's the airlines fault that they didn't put their medicine in their carry-on.

Every episode you got people getting totally drunk, who try to get on board wobbling and being loud and obnoxious.

Then there are people who complain about their lost luggage, while said luggage is going round and round on the carousel behind them, because they can't identify their own bag.

You got the people who have family members sick and dying somewhere, and when they arrive late at the gate, missing the flight, due to their own doing it's again the airline's fault. Even when the airline offers to book them on the next flight out, that's not good enough for them.

Then of course you got those passengers who complain about fellow passenger's looks.
