This is strange!

Right, I need help with something, so it may take me a while. But please bear with me as this is so bizarre it may be a bug in the game (PS2 version)!

I decided to play the 'Free Play' mode where you can create your family, move into a house, got job promotions and what not, but what was strange is that while there were only 2 Sims in my family, another female Sim randomly appeared as another family member! I tried to ask her to leave thinking that one of my Sims greeted her and let her in, but there was no option for it. A little while later she made herself comfortable and went to bed!
But what's weirder, she seems to be my doppleganger! Her name was Yasmine. That's my name! That's what I called my female Sim!
Anyway, I just thought 'Never mind, I'll keep her'. But after a while she got very annoying. She constantly wanted to talk while my Sims were doing things, especially when they wanted to go to the bathroom! So I tried having arguments with her, insulting her, teasing her and all sorts. Eventually my relationship with her was -100 (with a red angry face) and I hoped she would move out, but she still wouldn't leave! So I had no choice but to kill her and the way I did it was I starved her to death!! When she was sleeping I sold her door so she couldn't do anything!! Haha!
So, once she died, a sign came up and said 'Yasmine has died! Game over!' What?! For some reason the game must have thought that that particular Sim was me!
But anyway, I loaded up from my last save (while this second Yasmine was about) to find that Yasmine2 wasn't there!
So then I carried on with the game and a little while later another Sim randomly popped up - Ziggy! Now, he is already a Sim character, but I decided to keep him as I need him to meet my friendship target. The other funny thing is, if I save it while Ziggy's there, he disappears when I load it up again! I have to wait about a week before he shows!
Also, since I killed Yasmine2 off she hasn't showed at all. I think I have removed her from the game!

So, sorry it was long winded. It's just strange. Has this happened to anyone else?!
