I don't get it....The ending ruins it

Did I miss something? I watched the whole film with great passion only to find it's a story about a devoted psychiater who digged deep into the other side of the world, grew more and more desperate and was killed at last being a murder villain?! Throughout the film no one seemed to want to offer help and show sympathy for him. It's as if gay/les/bi were all vices (which I admit might be true back then) and those who were weak at heart and succumbed to them just deserve death?! Even his father's hug seemed so blunt that I don't think he really felt it the moment before the chandelier crashed them dead.

Excuse me! The death of Leon is the most tragic one I've seen this year.

And as for Leon's mother, it seemed nothing to her that his son and former lover were both killed at the end ....

The story unfolded with intelligence and elaborate suspension, but towards the end it became heartless and irresponsible with the two seeming victims making love with each other and the widow going "whatever".

The film was ruined by the end.

What made the universe made me.

I dunno if you are kidding or not. But in case your message is serious and not only a joke:

No offense intended but you have missed completely the point of this movie. "Inconscientes" is a farce, a satire about freudian concepts or better said on how people have understood Sigmund Freud's studies and theories since he published them. This film is a COMEDY!

You know, according to Freud our psyche is influenced and/or determined by sex. Here we are not talking only about genre nor about the act of making love but about SEX. I.e. everything related to our sexuality that gives us pleasure or guilt, advantages or disadvantages either real or imaginary.

It's a bit complicated to explain it, specially when English is not ur 1st language.
However you don't have to know about Freud theories in order to enjoy this movie, although it helps.
Woody Allen have shot similar movies dealing with the same "issue", and IMO more successfully. I.e. "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask", "Annie Hall", "Play It Again, Sam" (this one written and performed by Woody Allend but directed by Herbert Ross), etc.

This film is a COMEDY!

Yes and a very funny, IMO. I saw it the other night on TV and loved it.

This film is worth a second viewing if only to catch all the throw-away sight gags, such as the way Dr. Mira eyed his cigar while announcing that the guest speaker at their next meeting would be Sigmund Freud.

If you watched it on DVD, view the "analysis" of the film done by a Psychiatrist. This explains a lot. The film is meant to be a farce while reflecting all of the Freudian Thought of the day.
