how big is RDJ's role in this and should a fan see it?

I love Robert Downey jr but I think this role wasn't right for him. Didn't enjoy seeing him in this movie.

shareWas this before RDJ's big comeback after he was released? I'm a new fan. He's a solid A-lister now, and would never have done this role in his current fame, I think. Shaggy Dog was a vehicle for Tim Allen, after all.
shareHe was big on TV at the time but hadn't had much success in movies yet. It's crazy to think Tim Allen was a bigger movie star than RDJ just 6 years ago.
shareDefinitely see it! I saw it for RDJ as well and I loved him in this role! I wish we would've found out what happened to him. The typical "goes to jail" thing just doesn't cut it with me. It's too simple, and just a terrible ending overall. His methods were messed up, yes, but he had some good ideas.
That said, if you can't stand Tim Allen or Disney things in general, you might want to fast forward quite a bit.
