what would you change if you made this movie?

Ok, so I'm sure this is a good family movie and such. I've seen it a couple of times now and I dont dislike the movie, i just dont like these weird cheesy family-movies.

But I would love to see a darker version of this, or well not maybe so much darker, but more.."not so" ment for kids? with all those lame dog-does-something-weird jokes, and all that.

(not all dogs chase cats or pant heavily the minute they see a stick etc. And that tongue that suddenly got to long, wtf?)

So if you could make a movie with the same plot, basically. What would you have changed?

I would have loved to see more of the body language and mind/spirit change throughout. Kinda like in Wolf, though not so ...werewolf-ish as Wolf was towards the ending.

Say the character (in this movie, Dave) was frustrated because of his wife, kids, general problems piling up. Without knowing why, he's just start howling at night, maybe run off, just to run somewhere, snoop around everywhere like dogs often do. He'd only listen to people he respected for instance. You know what I mean? Instead of just doing things "dog-like", and have stronger senses, there would be the fact that he doesn't know why he does these things, but he just has to.

And what about trying to dominate? Forget just growling at Dr. Kozak, there should have been soo much more about these two before that court-room scene.
Kozak was also turning into a dog, and they could have done soo much more about this. :| Even before that, when they captured Dave, that could also have been done so much more about.

I would change the fact that he keeps getting referred to as a sheepdog. I have a bearded collie and it really does my head in that people keep thinking he is an old english sheepdog!!

I would've loved to have seen more done with Kozak. The ending was WAY too neat. If the original immortal dog goes back to Tibet, and Dave goes back to his family, does anyone honestly think they'll just send Kozak to jail and that's that? Hell no! He's got he immortal dog genes in him now. Strickland would've run so many tests on him... and probably not been as nice about it, either, given how Kozak put him in a coma and tried to take over his company.
