What a shock, the US is the last to get this....

It pisses me off how Americans are the last to get uplifting and environmentally-friendly entertainment like this. I guess it is because they feel like it won't sell to most people here who would rather watch people blow s**t up.

So, they wait and release it on Earth Day, to make it more appealing to gas-guzzliing, hypocritical jackasses. (And I can say all this because I am a born and bred American, and I can say what I want about my own hypocritical culture.)

I just saw the preview when I saw Seven Pounds, and even though I've already seen most of Planet Earth, the chance to see images like this on the big screen is totally worth it. Just seeing the preview gave me chills.

Can't wait. Although I'm sad and completely embarrassed to admit that I don't even know when Earth Day is...*runs to Google*

At least it'll be happier to watch than Seven Pounds. That movie was so ridiculously sad.

RobChenoweth, you're an idiot.

Enough said.

reply

Funny how some people just say "You're an idiot" without valid arguments and then just end it, "Enough said" as if that makes them right.

And a lot of people think that humans are the most intelligent species?? Heheheh.

reply

Wait I thought America WAS Planet Earth?

reply

Hi
I live in the uk and did get to see this back in 2007 and its a good film. but America isn't planet earth its all counties on earth. you were founded along time after the uk and other european countries were. us brits were around when the romans were. so I don't think that American is planet earth you don't own everything. but your topic may be a joke.. but like I say earth was around along time before the Americans..

you know i was being sarcastic right? im canadian, from toronto. im still living under the magna carta.

... I'm Canadian, that is. I wasn't being sarcastic, I still think the OP is an idiot.

Enough said.

I love the internet, everyone here is so nice :)

I'll stop now, I promise. I just have too much free time.

I don't have many friends.

Paul-Dallas, love your comment. I remember a joke from an Australian comedian once that went something like this:

"America doesn't really care what the rest of the world thinks of them, but then America hasn't quite grasped the concept of THE-REST-OF-THE-WORLD".

Thanks for the laugh!

I think it's a great idea for Disney to release the film on April 22nd for Earth Day. I don't mind that we have to wait a little longer then others to get it. I think the buzz and news surrounding the film on Earth day will be worth the wait.

reply

This movie will be shown in the United States for one day and one day only: Earth Day, April 22, 2009. If you want to see this movie, check to see which movie theater nearest you will be showing this movie and watch. If you don't watch on Earth Day, April 22, 2009, you will have to wait unil the movie comes out to DVD. I so cannot wait and will most likely be watching on Earth Day, April 22, 2009.

What a shock, there is no shortage of pretentious eurotrash aholes on the internet.

reply

It's really sad and unfortunate...

Why did this movie get released to the other side of the world TWO years ago, and they're only releasing it to the US and Canada now??? Do we get the movie ONLY on Earth Day, or will it be showing afterward?

And WHY didn't they release this movie at least a year ago, when all the other countries were releasing it in theatres? Especially since Disney's name is tied to it, it seems so strange that there hasn't even been select theatres in the US showing this...perhaps producers think we aren't interested in this movie, so they mind as well limit our access to it?

I can't see the movie on Earth Day, as I am swamped with school. But IF the movie is around in theatres afterward, I might.

I thought about going to see this, but I'm worried about getting stuck sitting next to some whacko left-wing enviro-nazi.
