Can Disney say... "Unrealistic"????

Okay, when it comes to plot holes and flaws in logic, I'm very forgiving, but seriously if Disney wants to make Sci-Fi movies they're going to need a few writers with brains.

Laws of Physics by Disney:

1) First holograms, which are already invented, now appear in blue flashes.

2) Then, they are flashes of light, but solid objects. (this can only be done with force fields).

3) Holograms have flawless voice recognision.

4) And a hologram has feelings and emotions. (This has to be done by artificial intelligence, which of course does not exist.)

5) A 3D hologram was created from 2D pictures.

6) A hologram is projected through opaque objects.

7) Kids are able to create holographic programs on their spare time (imagine hundreds of thousands of pages of code)

8) A hologram can be projected from on spot on a small computer. (You need three to triangulate on to one spot)

9) Flaws in holograms will not will only move them to humanly possible places.

10) All of this tencnology, (which would take armies of scientists decades to create) is done by a single man.

And I could go on and on with this, but you get the picture. Disney is not one for Sci-Fi. They just aren't willing to make their movies believeble. They should just stick to the usual kid has problem at school, and must fix it in a normal environment. What do you think?

I think that it's a movie. Movies tend to suspend reality for entertainment value. It can open up people's minds to future possibilities. If they all had to follow a code of being entirely true-to-life, then hundreds of wonderful, classic movies that people have enjoyed for decades would not exist. I'm pretty sure that the target audience (around 8-15 year-olds)is not going to suddenly start believing that this is reality. If they do, then they probably have bigger problems than can be solved in this forum. I just take the movie for what it is, an interesting and entertaining plot (if somewhat corny, but what do you want from Disney?) with a lot of situations/feelings that real kids can relate to. I think the movie had several important messages that had nothing to do with the hologram issue. Anyway, that's my two cents. Enjoy your weekend.

I agree with PurpleReina (nice name by the way). It's just a movie and, yes, most of it is fiction. Pixel Perfect was created solely for entertainment purposes. While I applaud your aptitude for science, as well as your attention to detail, this is just a Disney movie. It's all in good fun, so sit back and enjoy it.

Thank you, Chooie. We all need some way to escape the horrors of reality. That's why I can't get enough of "The Neverending Story". By the way Simpsons433, I agree with you that a lot of things in the movie kind of contradicted what was shown earlier. I still liked it though. I also think that the reason Roscoe had Loretta do all of those flips was because he knew that he didn't have to pretend she was human anymore. The crowd wanted a show, so that's what he gave them.

Anyway, adios amigos

I don't really think disney movies are made to be critisized scientifically. They are made for fun, for fantasy. There are only so many kid has problem at school...normal environment movies Disney can make.

Okay so yeah it is very unrealistic but it is for younger kids.... I first watched it when I was babysitting this 6 year old and she loved it and because of that movie she is now a singer and likes to do gymnastics. So who cares if movies are unrealistic in the end their just movies.

No, Star Wars is all about religious zelots so it gets a free pass.

of course that stuff is obviously wrong. but it's only disney! the movie was okay, but nobodyexpectsan actual sci-fi movie fom disney withlaws that apply.
& hey, maybe there are nerds with no life who can create a hologram- that much is possible. well, not really.
but disney has enough of kids with problems at school. they just tried something new
