Natasha Beddingfield 'Unwritten' and empathy for Loretta

A fairly popular song right now, "Unwritten" reminds me of this movie a lot and causes me to feel very empathetic for the character of Loretta. The line(s) that get to me the most are:

"Feel the rain on your skin; no one else can feel it for you..."

That should be an obvious reference to the end of the movie, when Loretta is experiencing rain for the first time. But the whole song can speak clearly of Loretta, and the unfortunate circumstances surrounding her. The song is primarily an inspirational song, but it explains the concept of forging your own identity and expressing the happiness of your own individuality.

Loretta lacked this, but gained her own individual during the course of the film. But she was never able to experience her own desires, forced to remain within closed walls. She also had no physical being so she couldn't really smell a flower, taste ice cream or, as the end shows, feel rain on her skin. She had to help, and borrow the body of, Samantha - which ended up with her losing herself.

Because Samantha tried vainly to be Loretta, and getting herself hurt, she found herself in a coma. Loretta in turn enters her brain, knowing very well that she will not be able to come back. Because of Samantha's bad sense of character, Loretta committed digital suicide to save her. But, just for a short while, she was able to borrow Samantha's body and experience physical nature for the first time - something she never thought she was able to do.

While some may gauke this movie as simple fiction, I felt Loretta spinning in the rain to be very inspiration and tragic at the same time. Something she wanted to the point of ending her own existance. Even in Roscoe were to create another "Loretta," even naming her "Loretta," he will never have the original Loretta, who developed a personality unique to her own.

Loretta in this movie becomes a tragic hero. And she becomes so powerful as a developed character.

Natasha Beddingfield has probably never even heard of "Pixel Perfect," but her song seems to be a tribute for Loretta. But moreso, both Loretta and "Unwritten" are tributes to us. They were both made to inspire us to achieve so much more with our lives. To enjoy our existance and the blessings we encounter with simple things like the sun shining, friends laughing and even our tears. They're both calling for us to "feel the rain on our skin." 'Cause only we can feel it.

I am betting Natasha Beddingfield borrowed her lyrics from songs and the plot of this movie. Do I have proof? No.
